All trade unions unite, and thousands of people take to the streets in Toulouse, France, on September 10, against Macron's economic policies after a day called 'Bloquons tout' (Block everything). This movement launches at the beginning of the summer on social networks against Macron's policies, which include downsizing the welfare state to cut taxes for businesses, increasing the Defense and Interior Ministry budgets, and appointing conservative Sebastien Lecornu as the new Prime Minister. His pro-business stance angers French people, who blockade various locations in France on September 10. A gathering and a march receive authorization from the Prefect of Occitanie. However, the Prefect decides to forbid the gathering called by the CGT union and the march one and a half hours before they begin. Riot police charge and clash violently with peaceful protesters and CGT unionists, using tear gas and pepper spray.
