The National Institute of Fine Arts and the Ministry of Culture hold a posthumous tribute to the first Mexican actress Silvia Pinal at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, Mexico, on November 30, 2024. She passes away at the age of 93 on November 28 after a complication in her health. Born on September 12, 1931, in Guaymas, Sonora, Pinal stands out in the film industry with her participation in films directed by renowned filmmakers, such as Luis Bunuel. She collaborates with him on the iconic trilogy consisting of Viridiana (1961), El angel exterminador (1962), and Simon del desierto (1965). These films consolidate her as an actress of international stature and make her a muse of auteur cinema.
