Veiled Iranian women gather under scale models of Iran-made ballistic missiles, two centrifuges, and an anti-U.S. billboard after participating in an anti-U.S. and anti-Israeli rally marking the anniversary of the U.S. embassy occupation in downtown Tehran, Iran, on November 4, 2025. About 100 Muslim students seize the U.S. Embassy in Tehran on November 4, 1979, protesting American interference and demanding the Shah's extradition. Backed by Ayatollah Khomeini, the hostage crisis triggers Iran-U.S. diplomatic rupture, economic sanctions, and Prime Minister Bazargan's resignation.
