Four Christmas markets in the old town create an atmospheric ambiance, which is enhanced by numerous lights and festive decorations. The area is illuminated with impressive LED lighting and thousands of twinkling lights. In particular, the Huttenzaubermarkt, a smaller but charming market on the town square, offers a variety of arts and crafts stalls as well as a selection of culinary delights ranging from sweet treats to savory snacks. Other highlights include a Christmas market in the beer garden on the grounds of the Kuchlbauer brewery with the Kuchlbauer Turm (Kuchlbauer Tower) designed by Austrian architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. There are more market stalls at the leaning tower of Abensberg, the KunstHaus (Art House). The KunstHaus is designed by architect and Hundertwasser student Peter Pelikan.
