Traditional tobacco traders are selling traditionally produced tobacco at a traditional market in Tangerang, Indonesia, on June 13, 2023. The government has announced that it will use tobacco tax revenues to reduce the widening deficit recorded by public health insurance (BPJS) from year to year. Meanwhile, The National Committee for Tobacco Control has said that the government regulation using revenue from tobacco tax to help plug up the deficit in public health insurance (BPJS) is against the law.
