The monument to those who protect the world from the nuclear disaster stands outside the New Safe Confinement at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant in the Kyiv region, Ukraine, on February 14, 2025. This monument commemorates the 20th anniversary of the accident. The plant was hit by a Russian attack drone with an explosive warhead on Friday night, January 14, 2025. The structure, put in place in 2016, protects the remains of Reactor 4, which was destroyed during the 1986 Chornobyl disaster.
