Through social media, Club America and Adidas launch a campaign in Mexico City, Mexico, in which fans exchange their old jerseys for a new one corresponding to the 2025 Apertura tournament at a special event held outside the Estadio Azteca/Banorte. Due to the overwhelming success of this campaign, they plan to distribute new jerseys in exchange for old ones outside the Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes on July 2, 2025, prior to the friendly match between Club America and Club Puebla. However, the event is ultimately canceled without any reason, angering many attendees.

On June 11, 2025, in Mexico City, Mexico, Clara Brugada, head of government of Mexico City; Alessandro Del Piero, former Italian footballer and FIFA ambassador; and officials from tourism and Banorte Bank unveil the countdown clock to the 2026 World Cup in Mexico, the United States, and Canada. As part of the start of this countdown, the city also turns green. At dusk, more than 40 iconic buildings and monuments in Mexico City illuminate with this color, FIFA's signature color for the World Cup.
