Daria, a former prisoner of conscience who recently moved to Poland is seen posing with her portrait at a demonstration in support of Belarusian prisoners of conscience in Warsaw, Poland on 18 May, 2024. Daria had been imprisoned for two and a half years by Belarusian authorities after she took part in rallies opposing the regime of president Alexander Lukashenko. As of May 2024 nearly 1500 political prisonsers of prisoners of conscience are being held on politicially motivated charges according to the Viasna human rights center.

The new head, appointed by the Russian Patriarch - Archpriest Vladimir Tishchuk, served a prayer together with the three Bulgarian priests appointed by His Holiness the Bulgarian in the Church of St. Nicholas Mirlikiyski in Sofia, also known as the Russian Church in Sofia, Bulgaria on 11 November 2023. The Russian ambassador in Bulgaria Eleonora Mitrofanova was also present at the church service. The Church was closed after Bulgarian authorities expelled the head of the Russian Orthodox Church in Sofia, Archimandrite Vasian, and two Belarusian priests and accused them of serving Russia's geopolitical interests.
