The newcomers are asylum seekers mostly from African countries and travel on boats from Libya to Greece, crossing the Mediterranean Sea. The Greek government and lawmakers try to revoke the asylum applications and imprison the newly arrived people in detention camps in Chania, Greece, on July 14, 2025.
