Colonel Marcin Siudzinski stands during the anniversary of the outbreak of World War II at the monument to the Soldiers of September 1939 and the Krakow Army at the Rakowicki Cemetery in Krakow, Poland, on September 1, 2024. On September 1, 1939, the Third Reich attacks Poland when the school battleship ''Schleswig-Holstein'' begins shelling Westerplatte. Poland is also attacked by the Slovak army allied with the Third Reich. During the celebration of the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II, flowers are laid at the monument to the Soldiers of September 1939 and the ''Krakow'' Army at the Military Cemetery in Krakow.
