Machines and special vehicles are cleaning the runway and tarmac while special gear is used to de-ice the aircraft in order to keep the airport running and operational, resulting only in delays. Multiple days of snow storms occurred at the first days of the year combined with low temperatures weather resulting in icy roads, frozen lakes and trouble on the Dutch roads and railway while many flights have been cancelled in Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
