A three-compartment wooden showcase filled with religious objects and historical items stands inside the Saint Leopold Mandic sanctuary in Padua, Italy, on May 15, 2026. The glass display includes liturgical vestments, a silver chalice, a vintage radio, books, and informational labels. An upper berth is inside the compartment of the new flagship Sakura train operating on the Kyiv-Uzhhorod route in Kyiv, Ukraine, on April 28, 2026. Supported by Japan, the train runs through Ukrainian cities where cherry trees bloom each spring. The project, implemented with the support of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), features themed carriage decor with cherry blossom motifs and specially designed route displays. Passengers can access an online portal about Japanese culture, architecture, and art, as well as get familiar with elements of Japanese cuisine, board games, and Ukraine-Japan cultural collaborations. The Sakura train consists of new carriages manufactured in Ukraine in 2026, the first of 100 units ordered in 2025 under an agreement between Ukrzaliznytsia and the Kryukiv Railway Car Building Plant.

The airplane has the registration tail number D-ACNR, the name Ratingen and is powered by 2x GE jet engines. Lufthansa CityLine GmbH was a German regional airline subsidiary of Lufthansa. On 16 April 2026, Lufthansa announced the permanent withdrawal of 27 aircraft from its CityLine subsidiary fleet citing surging fuel cost linked to the Middle Eastern conflict and the Iran war in addition to strikes and ongoing labor disruptions.
