Completely empty and deserted Dam Square in Amsterdam during the lockdown. Quiet, almost deserted from local people and tourists streets of Amsterdam during the lockdown in the Dutch capital city with stores and shops appearing with closed with the roller metal shutter down, cafes, bars and restaurants also closed with tables and chairs of the terraces locked. The Netherlands was the first European nation to declare full lockdown to fight the new Omicron variant that surges. After a sudden government order before Christmas, the country closed all the nonessential shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, gyms, schools, sports venues, cultural places and others for 4 weeks in order to fight and prevent the spread of the Omicron mutation of Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic until at least January 14.
