Deborah Scott (left) of Georgia STAND-UP waits while a Capitol Police officer adjusts the handcuffs on Melanie Campbell (center), president and CEO of the Black Women’s Roundtable, following arrest in a civil disobedience action for for voting rights and economic justice. Protesters are demanding that Congress to pass legislation protecting the right to vote and providing economic assistance to Americans. Specifically, they want passage of the Freedom to Vote Act, the Build Back Better Act, and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
