A protester holds a placard reading 'I don't want to lose my life to earn it'. Called by all trade unions united, dozens of thousands of people take to the streets in Toulouse, France, on September 18, 2025, against Macron's economic policies after a day called 'Bloquons tout' (Block everything) on September 10. It launches at the beginning of the summer on social networks against Macron's politics: downsizing the welfare state to cut taxes for businesses, rising the Defense budget and Interior Ministry, and his choice of conservative Sebastien Lecornu as the new Prime Minister. His pro-business stance angers French people who blockade everywhere in France on September 10. Riot police receive orders to show no tolerance towards blockades and use volleys of tear gas canisters. After blockading, people come to protest and scuffle with riot police.

The woman on the left holds a cardboard sign reading 'Don't touch my public servant', while the other on the left holds a placard reading 'Public services my love'. Hundreds of protesters march in Toulouse, France, on May 13, 2025, called by trade unions to protest against the new budget for 2026 in France. They protest against the reduction of public services such as education, health, child protection, public finances, etc. The 2026 Bayrou budget plans nearly EUR50 billion in cuts to public services, except for the defense budget. The defense budget is the only one to grow in 2026. Protesters oppose the defense budget and the cuts. Similar protests take place elsewhere in France. The culture sector is one of the main domains impacted by cuts.

A young woman holds a placard reading, ''Youth don't want to work for a starvation salary, for a capitalist and neocolonial system, with no rights to unemployment and pension benefits while trashing Earth.'' On May Day or Labour Day, thousands of people take to the streets in Toulouse, France, on May 1, 2025. Trade unionists, people, yellow vests, anarchists, and members of political parties come to the demonstration. This year, people are worried about what French President Emmanuel Macron will do regarding defense and social issues, as he, like other Western leaders, wants to push for defense spending. The French government says French people will be asked to make efforts on the French social model to pay for defense. Antiracism, antifascism, and the Gaza war are also mottos of the march.

A French farmer drives his car with a banner reading ''Macron if you're going to Rio don't forget your rednecks'' on the RN118 road at the start of a nationwide protest against the EU-Mercosur agreement, with farmers feeling they have yet to reap the rewards of last winter's mobilization near Velizy-Villacoublay, southwestern Paris, on November 17, 2024. Farmers complain about excessive bureaucracy and low incomes, and they are also fed up with poor harvests, losses from emerging animal diseases, and the prospect of signing a free-trade agreement with the Latin American countries of Mercosur (Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay) that would create the world's largest free trade zone.

A protester holds a placard reading 'I don't anymore have vaseline'. More than 8000 protesters marched 12km against the planned A69 highway. The collectives 'La Voie Est Libre' (ie 'The Way Is Free'), the farmers organization Confederation Paysanne, XR Toulouse (Extinction Rebellion Toulouse) and 'Les soulevements de la Terre' organized a week-end of mobilization and a 12 km march in Saix near Castres (Tarn) against the beginning of the works on the decried future highway Toulouse-Castres, the A69. Thousands of people stayed in the camp with tents. They assisted to speeches, press conferences, information points before going protesting along places to be destroyed by the highway and on the N126 . This highway would cost (at date) EUR512millions for 54 kilometers, part of the money will be public. Opponents at this project say that the reprofiling of the N126 will be suffisant for the 6,000 vehicles planned per day and would cost far less money. More than 100 protected species and 400ha of agricultural field would be destroyed if the A69 highway is built. The A69 highway is already nicknamed 'Fabre highway' as it's this compagny which wants the A69 to be built. Saix. Tarn. France. April 22th 2023.

A protester holds an umbrella with a cardboard 'My umbrella is broken but I still don't see the trickle down'. France's labour unions and left parties led a 8th wave of nationwide protests against President Emmanuel Macron's plans to make the French work longer before retirement. More than 30,000 people protested in Toulouses in one of the biggest protest in years. They took to the streets against the planned reform of pension and retirement age to 64 from 62, a move opinion polls show is opposed by a vast majority (93%) of workers already facing a cost-of-living crisis. Polls indicate also that more 60% of the French people support the strikes and protests. 74% say it will be unacceptable if the government use the article 49.3 which states that the law is accepted without vote by the Parliament). The retirement age would be raised to 64 years (for 43 years of continued work) and the pensions will be lower specially for women, 'short careers' and low wages people. The COR (Counsel of Pension Guidance), which depends of the Prime minister Office directly, said on September 2022 in its latest report that it sees no needs to reform the pension system as it shares in the French GDP will remain steady at least 2070.
