Dozens of students who are members of the student associations of marine cooperating with Save Shark Indonesia and Green Peace gathered on Pahlawan Protocol street of Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia, on November 15, 2015 and voiced about the protection of a shark population is threatened by over-exploitation by humans. By bringing some of the posters and took two shark mascot, they explained that according to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) said at least 1,145,087 tons of shark products traded globally each year. But as a species, sharks have the slow reproduction. Ironically Indonesia became the top ranking of the 20 largest shark fishing countries in the world. The condition is exacerbated with the rise of sales 'baby' shark in supermarkets. In fact, sharks are top predators in controlling populations of marine animals in the food chain. Therefore, the student associations of marine wants to educate the citizens, as well as government regulators and fishermen as a provider of these seafood products.
