A protester waves the Lebanese flag during the march. Hundreds of people demonstrate in Toulouse, France, on October 5, 2024, in support of Gazans, the Gaza Strip, Lebanese, and Lebanon. Since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, the Gaza Strip is leveled and decimated by Israel: more than 41,000 are killed, and 100,000 are injured. South Africa pleads in the International Justice Court against Israel for not preventing a genocide in Gaza. More than 80 countries side with South Africa in its case. The U.N. estimates that up to 2 million people in the Gaza Strip--or more than 85% of the population--are forced to flee Israel's devastating bombing campaign. Israel attacks Lebanon for two weeks. As in Gaza, the Israeli army strikes civilian neighborhoods, hospitals, health facilities, and kills medics and doctors. More than 2,000 Lebanese are killed since Monday. More than 1.2 million Lebanese are displaced, and approximately 300,000 Syrian refugees in Lebanon return to Syria until Israel destroys every point of passage between Lebanon and Syria. Civilians bear the brunt of Israeli killings. Israel demands more than 50 Lebanese towns to be evacuated, such as Netanieh, population 75,000. Israel states it has the right to self-defense. For the West, neither Lebanon, Iran, nor Palestine have the right to self-defense.
