Dollard-des-Ormeaux Mayor Ed Janiszewski is honored by the Tamil Hindu community during the Thaipusam Festival at the Thiru Murugan Temple in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Around 3500 devotees took part in the festival, which commemorates the occasion when the Goddess Parvati gave Lord Murugan his Vel (spear) so he could vanquish the evil demon Soorapadman.
