According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), an Equatorial Rossby wave is currently propagating westward in the Indian Ocean, from west of Aceh to Bengkulu. This has the potential to increase convective activity and the formation of cyclonic circulation patterns in the region.
