KRAKOW, POLAND - AUGUST 04, 2023: Jakub Blaszczykowski at the Krakow City Office during a meeting with the Mayor of the City, where he receives the 'Honoris gratia' award, which is granted to individuals particularly deserving of recognition for their contributions to the City of Krakow, on August 04, 2023, in Krakow, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Poland. Jakub 'Kuba' Blaszczykowski is a retired Polish footballer, known for his success at Wisla Krakow, Borussia Dortmund, and the Poland national team. He won the Polish league title in his debut season and later secured two Bundesliga titles and one DFB-Pokal with Dortmund. Named Polish Footballer of the Year twice, he captained Poland at UEFA Euro 2012 and featured in Euro 2016 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Post-retirement, he became a businessman and part owner of Wisla Krakow.
