Poster and candle left by members of the KOD (Democracy Defense Committee) who commemorated the fifth anniversary of Piotr Szczsny's death outside the monument to the Fallen Shipyard Workers of 1970 in Gdansk. Piotr Szczesny, a Polish chemist, set himself on fire on October 19, 2017, in protest against the political policy of the ruling right-wing Law and Justice party and political discrimination (racism, homophobia and other forms) in Polish social life. He died 10 days later in the hospital on October 29, 2017 without regaining consciousness. On Sunday, October 23, 2022, in Gdansk, Poland.
