Immigration activist Father Jose Landaverde hangs on a wooden cross during a direct action by the National TPS Alliance at the White House. Activists are hanging on crosses for 8 hours to symbolize the sacrifice immigrants make to contribute to life in the US by long, hard work. A band of young people from a mariachi school plays in front of Father Landaverde. They are part of a rally celebrating Mexican President Andrés Manuel Lopez Obrador’s summit with President Joe Biden and Canadian Peime Minister Justin Trudeau, as well as demanding immigration reform.
