Latnik, who has been a regular at the daily protests against the war, is a Russian who emigrated to the United States to escape President Vladimir Putin's rule. In addition to the daily rally, demonstrators held a vigil outside the residence of the Russian ambassador to demand an end to what they claim is genocide. Ukraine’s supporters continue to demand a no-fly zone over Ukraine, additional military assistance, and exclusion of all Russian banks from SWIFT.

Demonstrators demand a no-fly zone and removal of all Russian banks from SWIFT. The event was sponsored by US Ukrainian Activists, a U.S.-based assistance and advocacy organization.
