A Kerala-style saree, along with gold jewelry and a peacock feather, is placed at a traditional Vishu kani setting with a small idol of Lord Krishna in a home during the Vishu Festival in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, on April 13, 2025. Vishu is a major annual event for Malayalee people in and outside Kerala. Vishu is the harvest festival and the astrological New Year of the Malayalees, indicating the movement of the sun to Aries or the Mesha Rashi, and marks the day from which farmers begin ploughing the land and other agricultural activities.
