Most of the time they stay inside the factory and work and just get a day off to meet their families who are often far off from their workplace. The owners provide them with food and shelter most of the time for free. The workers are often stuffed into a single room or two at the most. They don't work in definite schedule or shift rather they work on consignments and orders. The safety ,health and hygiene is often ignored but owing to the talented and hardworking craftsmen the production is always able to keep up to the market demands in Kolkata, India.
