This crepuscular dragonfly, belonging to the family Aeshnidae, is found in India and Sri Lanka. Known for its bright blue and green coloration developed later in life, it primarily feeds on mosquitoes and microlepidoptera, and typically shelters in dark thickets during the day. Attracted to artificial light sources, mature individuals are often seen near illuminated areas.

Kashmiri Muslims greet each other after the Eid al-Adha prayers at the Mughal garden in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on June 07, 2025. Eid al-Adha is one of the holiest Muslim holidays of the year. It marks the yearly Muslim pilgrimage, known as Hajj, to visit Mecca. During Eid al-Adha, Muslims slaughter goats, sheep, and cattle in commemoration of the Prophet Abraham's readiness to sacrifice his son to show obedience to God. They split the meat into three parts: one for family, one for friends and relatives, and one for the poor and needy. Authorities disallow Eid prayers at Kashmir's main Jamia Masjid (Grand Mosque) for the seventh consecutive year. However, in other parts of Kashmir, prayers are offered in mosques and shrines.
