The NCP is a newly unified communist party formed in November 2025 through the merger of more than ten communist factions, including Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda's CPN (Maoist Centre) and Madhav Kumar Nepal's CPN (Unified Socialist). Following the party's convention, Prachanda is named Coordinator and Madhav Kumar Nepal Co-coordinator. The party adopts a five-pronged star as its election symbol, with unification details submitted to the Election Commission ahead of upcoming elections.
