The relics, housed in a specialized airtight glass case for preservation, include a green schist casket featuring an ancient Brahmi inscription identifying them as the ''Dashabala Sharira'' (physical remains of the Buddha). This historic exposition, the first of its kind outside India, is made possible through the collaboration of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to celebrate the deep civilizational ties between the two nations. A senior Buddhist monk and security personnel observe the solemn proceedings as thousands of people gather for this rare spiritual opportunity.
