In Gdansk, Poland, on August 31, 2025, a participant with a red and white Solidarity pin attends the ceremonial meeting of the Gdansk Regional Board of the NSZZ 'Solidarnosc' trade union in the BHP Hall. On August 31, 1980, the August Agreements are signed between the democratic opposition and the communist government. That month, around 700,000 people participate in strikes, and the newly founded trade union Solidarity attracts 9-10 million members. To commemorate these events, an anniversary takes place in the BHP Hall of the Gdansk Shipyard, and flowers are laid at the shipyard gate.
