A pitaya or pitahaya known as ''dragon fruit'' and ''strawberry pear'' is a fruit with leather-like skin and scaly spikes on the fruit exterior of several different cactus species indigenous of the genus Selenicereus (formerly Hylocereus). Plants can begin flowering in as little as six to eight months, although container-grown plants may take up to two years to bear fruit. It is very profitable for farming, once the plant is mature, could see four to six fruiting cycles a year from a plant that is capable of bearing fruit for 20 to 30 years. The biggest enemy of this plant is Fungus (Colletotrichum) and Bacteria (Xanthomonas and Erwinia) attack. Moreover, farmers are advised to prune and destroy the infected plant parts. XR France (Extinction Rebellion France) organize this week in Toulouse in collaboration with ATECOPOL events, conferences and die-in to raise awareness about the last report of the IPCC published last week and titled 'Climate Change: Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability'. Atecopol is a group of scientists coming from every discipline who want to inform citizens about science, technology and their consequences, their feasibility.
