Indian Farmers run tractor after physically return land at Nano Plant Singur on October 20, 2016 in Singur, Hoogly District, India. The Supreme Court has quashed the Left Front government’s acquisition of 997 acres of agricultural land for Tata Motors Nano car plant in Hooghly’s Singur. She was here to address programme to mark the resumption of farming activity in Singur. It is hardly an exaggeration to say that the chief minister owes a lot of her political career to the land movements Singur and Nandigram. The vindication of her stand both in the electoral and judicial fields has not only turned her an undisputed leader in Bengal, but also helped her to emerge as a face championing farmer rights in the country.
