The Indonesian government is conducting a market operation by distributing rice at a price of IDR 53,000 for a 5kg bag, while the market price has reached between IDR 70,000 and IDR 90,000. This program is being carried out by the government as an effort to curb inflation amid a significant increase in rice prices, which the government attributes to the impact of El Nino, leading to scarce rice stocks in the market and triggering price hikes for other basic necessities nationally.
