Several thousand people, both women and men, take to the streets on this day. They demand more resources from the French government to protect women who are beaten, injured, or killed by their partners. They state that 65% of murdered women had approached the police to file a complaint, but the police classified the complaints. They also request better training for the police to pay attention to these complaints. Feminist organizations demand at least EUR2.6 billion per year as necessary to tackle violence against women.
