The comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS (C/2023 A3) is seen over Torre del Pizzo, in Gallipoli, Italy, on October 15, 2024. The comet's coma, or head, measures around 130,000 miles (209,000 kilometers) in diameter, with a tail extending 18 million miles (29 million kilometers). It is not expected to return for another 80,000 years.

The Milky Way is being seen over the Tea Estate in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka, on June 17, 2024. The Milky Way is a huge collection of stars, dust, and gas. It is being called a spiral galaxy because if you could view it from the top or bottom, it would look like a spinning pinwheel. The Sun is being located on one of the spiral arms, about 25,000 light-years away from the center of the galaxy.

A longexposure photo shows Milky Way Galaxy rising behind the waning moon in L'Aquila, Italy, on February 6th, 2024. This phenomenon was visible in the hours before dawn, with the moon in the waning phase at 16.8%. "The Milky Way" is the galaxy where our solar system is located, hosting billions of stars, including our sun. It appears as a luminous band in the night sky, primarily composed of stars, interstellar dust, and gas.
