Janardan Sharma, Deputy General Secretary of the CPN (Maoist Centre), arrives at the party office for a party secretariat meeting as they move closer to the unification process with six other parties in Kathmandu, Nepal, on November 1, 2025. The Secretariat of the CPN (Maoist Centre)'s General Convention Organizing Committee commences on November 1, 2025. The meeting is chaired by Committee Coordinator and Maoist Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'. The unification process among the CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal, and the rebel faction of Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led CPN reaches its final stage.

Post Gen-Z Revolution In Nepal: Maoist Center Chair Prachanda Proposes Special General Convention

Janardan Sharma, Deputy Secretary General of CPN-Maoist Center, arrives at the party office in Kathmandu, Nepal, on September 21, 2025, to attend the party office bearers meeting. In the meeting, CPN-Maoist Center leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as Prachanda, proposes a special convention to elect new leadership, citing the current political context. Dahal also proposes to dissolve all party committees from the central to local level. Once approved, all existing party structures from the grassroots to the central level will be dissolved, and a General Convention Organizing Committee will be formed. The committee will be tasked with organizing the special general convention in December. Prachanda also proposes calling an emergency meeting of the Central Committee within a week to formally initiate the process. This comes in the wake of the Gen-Z revolution in the Himalayan nation, which changes the political course where 74 people lose their lives when police use lethal force on protesting students.
