KRAKOW, POLAND - AUGUST 1: Malopolska Curator of Education, Barbara Nowak, during the 79th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising on August 1, 2023 in Krakow, Poland. On the 79th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising, ceremonies commemorating this event were held in Krakow. In St. Mary's Basilica, a holy mass is reflected in the intention of the homeland and soldiers who died for freedom, and then wreaths were laid at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Matejko Square. During the uprising, 16,000 to 18,000 Home Army soldiers and 150,000 to 180,000 civilians died.
