Sophie Binet, general secretary of the CGT union, Laurent Berger, general secretary of the CFDT union, and Marylise Leon, deputy secretary and future first secretary of the CFDT, were present at the demonstration as several thousand young people, employees and retirees rallied this June 6, 2023 to take part in the fourteenth day of demonstrations against pension reform in Paris. The new pension reform law, which has now come into force, raises the legal retirement age from 62 to 64. For the past six months, all the unions have been opposing the government's efforts to repeal the law.
