Indian tourists take a Shikara ride on the waters of Dal Lake during a fresh spell of snowfall in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on January 27, 2026. Snowfall ends prolonged dry weather in Kashmir. Flight operations are suspended, and the Srinagar National Highway remains closed following fresh snowfall across the Kashmir Valley. The Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Disaster Management Authority (JKUTDMA) issues high and medium intensity avalanche warnings for eleven districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
