This Friday, authorities of the in Mexico City, offered a press conference and a tour to the media in the building known as La Cabana, prior to the exhibition called ''The infinite eye of Enrique Metinides: Always current events of the police report'' that pays tribute to this Mexican photographer specialised in police photography or red note. His work travelled around the world and was presented at the Museum of Modern Art and the Anton Kern Gallery, New York; and the Photographers' Gallery in London. The event was led by his daughter, Alexandra Metinides; Marina Nunez Bespalova, deputy director of cultural development at the Complejo Cultural Los Pinos; and Cesar Gonzalez Aguirre, curator of the exhibition. The exhibition will open to the public on Saturday 13 May at 12:00 noon. Enrique Metinides began collecting details of car accidents and published his first photograph when he was 11 years old in the newspaper La Prensa. The self-taught photographer died at the age of 88, hospitalised a few weeks ago after a fall that caused creaneoencephalic damage. For more than three decades he documented red note images. His photographs from the 1950s appeared in newspapers such as La Prensa, Zocalo, Crimen and Alarma.
