Members of the Basij paramilitary force are waiting to take part in a rally commemorating International Quds Day, also known as Jerusalem Day, and a funeral for members of the IRGC Quds Force who were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Syria, in Tehran, Iran, on April 5, 2024. Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a senior commander in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, his deputy, Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, and five other members of the IRGC were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.
