Members of the Muslim community break their fast at the 18 de Marzo Ecological Park Sports Complex in Mexico City, Mexico, on June 6, 2025, in celebration of Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice). Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of the Sacrifice, dates back to the time when God appears in a dream to Abraham, known as Ibrahim to Muslims, and asks him to sacrifice his son as a sign of his loyalty. According to the Quran, Islam's holy book, just as Ibrahim is about to sacrifice his son, God replaces Ismail with a lamb, which is sacrificed in his place.
