Members of the Muslim community pose with a book of the Quran at the 18 de Marzo Ecological Park Sports Complex in Mexico City, Mexico, on June 6, 2025, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice). Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of the Sacrifice, is celebrated when God appears in a dream to Abraham, known as Ibrahim to Muslims, and asks him to sacrifice his son as a sign of his loyalty. According to the Quran, the holy book of Islam, just as Ibrahim is about to sacrifice his son, God replaces Ismail with a lamb, which is sacrificed in his place.
