However, they fear that with the election of Donald Trump, this situation will get even worse. The government of outgoing President Joe Biden introduces the CBP One app in January 2023 to regulate the flow of migrants to the United States and reduce the possibility of traffickers exploiting migrants. Although the app does not guarantee that migrants can settle in the United States, it allows them to obtain a work permit while pursuing their asylum process.
