In Mexico City, Mexico, on March 7, 2026, some Muslims and members of the Iranian community protest outside the United States Embassy against the attacks carried out by the U.S. and Israel on Iran, which result in the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic. During the protest, an effigy of Baal, the Canaanite and Semitic deity, is burned. Baal is often depicted with a Star of David and symbols associated with Satanism. Furthermore, the name Baal appears in the Epstein sex scandal; in one of the emails and bank transfer forms related to Epstein, an account called ''Baal name'' is listed. It is used in modern narratives as a symbol of theories about Satanism, elites, and corruption.
