A mosque sink in the north Jakarta, Indonesia on May 18, 2017. Jakarta sinking by between 7.5 and 17 centimetres a year, more than 10 times faster than the sea is rising. Governments will split the $263 million cost for the first 8 kilometres of the sea wall, as part of National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD) plan. Developers would put up the remaining 24 kilometres by 2030 in exchange for the right to build on reclamation land.
