In Krakow, Poland, on August 1, 2025, Polish Army soldiers participate in the commemoration of the 81st anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising at Matejski Square. On August 1, 1944, at 5:00 p.m. - the 'W' hour, the Warsaw Uprising begins with the aim of liberating the capital from German occupation before the Red Army enters. The uprising is supposed to last a few days, but it falls only on October 3 after 63 days of fighting. Between 16,000 and 18,000 Home Army soldiers and between 150,000 and 180,000 civilians die, and the city is completely destroyed.

The Umschlagplatz monument is seen in Warsaw, Poland on 08 January, 2025. The monument built in memory of over 300 thousand Jews deported to death camps by Nazi Germany has been painted with grafitti reading 'Warsaw 1943 = Gaza 2025' by an unknown person. A local resident, whose mother was one of victimsof the Nazi deportatins, initiated a public clean up of the monument after city authorities had not taken action for multiple days.
