People watch from upper floors as activists engage in civil disobedience in Hart Senate Office Building, part of the U.S. Capitol complex. Demonstrators called for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and demanded that $14.3 billion in aid for Israel in the $106 billion budget supplemental be redirected to meet basic needs in the United States. Roughly 40 protesters from a variety of organizations, including Palestinians and U.S. military veterans were arrested.
