In the Kyiv region, Ukraine, on February 14, 2025, a worker measures radiation levels on the sole of a man's boot outside the New Safe Confinement at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant. The plant was hit by a Russian attack drone with an explosive warhead on Friday night, January 14. The structure, put in place in 2016, protects the remains of Reactor 4, which was destroyed during the 1986 Chornobyl disaster.
