OSWIECIM, POLAND - APRIL 18, 2023: Meshullam Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, commonly called Rabbi Zalman, one of the founders of the Jewish Renewal movement and an innovator in ecumenical dialogue is seen ahead of the 35th annual 'March of the Living' inside Auschwitz I, a part of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest German Nazi-operated concentration camp during World War II, on April 18, 2023, in Oswiecim, Poland. The March of the Living, an annual educational program, brings together Jewish students from around the world to silently march from Auschwitz I to Auschwitz II Birkenau, paying tribute to the millions of lives lost in the Holocaust. Through this powerful program, students gain a deeper understanding of the atrocities of the past and the importance of preventing them from happening again.
