Kulman Ghising, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure, and Urban Development, takes stock of the situation in Singhadurbar, the administrative capital of Nepal, a week after it is set ablaze and vandalized by protestors on September 16, 2025. Kulman Ghising, a bureaucrat, is credited for playing a key role in ending hours-long daily power cuts a decade ago. Ghising, former managing director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), is widely credited for declaring Kathmandu Valley load-shedding-free during the Dashain-Tihar festival in October 2016.
